Alborz vegetation
Central Alborz is a part of the Alborz mountain range, which has the highest height. The central Alborz mountain range is divided into two northern and southern ranges. In terms of habitat division, a part of the southern slope of the central Alborz is located in Tehran province and is part of the Iranian district of Irani-Turani. The vegetation of South Alborz is very rich and diverse. Due to the high number of endemic species, this habitat is one of Iran’s genetic reserves of Iran and high value for protection. The Alborz habitat of the National Botanical Garden of Iran by displaying parts of the natural landscape of Alborz by creating parts in the form of a sloping hill, a valley and establishing the flow and circulation of water in the form of a spring and a river, a waterfall and a water catchment and a wetland. It has a large volume of natural rocks that all elements are collected and created from the nature of Alborz region. In the hills facing the east of this habitat, a mass of Juniperus trees, which are the indicators of the forests of dry slopes, have been established. The prominent genera in this area are: Birch (Betula), Almond (Amygdalus), Pistacia, Hawthorn (Crataegus), (Rhus), Cupressus, Juniperus and Willow (Salix).
